My illustration masters is officially finished. What a relief!

Two weeks ago, I presented my work (above) to a panel of assessors. I’m pretty happy with it, though I learnt what to avoid more than anything! I created a short story; me feeling my way into the Big Busy Kingdom world. (BBK is my own fairy-tale kingdom in which to – hopefully – set a variety of works.)
Also submitted my thesis last week. My topic was Word and Picture at Play, being an exploration of the way text and images interact in picture books. I’ve been interested in creative storytelling methods and the use of visual narratives since I can remember, and the study proved highly valuable. I look forward to using what I’ve learnt in future projects.
A thesis selfie. What have I become.
Well, my amazing wife is currently overdue with our sixth, so there’s that. We’re becoming quite the Big Busy Family.
I’ve got some more native flora and fauna illustrations for the City of Onkaparinga, then I knuckle down on a five-metre-wide (16½ foot) painting for the Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry waiting room. I’ll definitely be sharing process pics of that one, so hang about if you’re keen to see more.
And hey! Thanks heaps for following along so far!
