Louis Decrevel lives on a hobby farm in South Australia with his wife, kids, and other animals.

He has a Master of Visual Art & Design (Illustration) and a BA (Multimedia), both from the University of South Australia. His Master’s thesis, Word and Picture at Play, is about how text and images interact in picture books.

Clients include Quarto Publishing (London), Nature Play SA, the Department of Environment, Water & Natural Resources (DEWNR), the City of Onkaparinga, Sanglier Wines, and TEAR Australia.

His artwork and methods are featured in Whoosh! 250 Ways to Bring Motion to Your Drawings, published by Barron’s (US) and Search (UK).

He’s also working on a range of original stories, from picture books to historical fiction, and he’s an avid reader of the 19th/20th century classics and modern YA fiction and comics.

His name is pronounced Louie Decra-vel.
